Modern man processes huge amounts of information. However, there is often no benefit to storing fragmentary information.

How to learn to extract from information what is then useful in professional activities? And is it useful not only for an adult, but also for a child?

The answer to these questions is! Educational technologies, for example, such as the Technology for the Development of Critical Thinking through Reading and Writing, help, based on the analysis and synthesis of information, to retain in memory something that is difficult to do without, comprehending the basics of different sciences.

One of these methods is synquine.(from French five lines).

Sinkwine- a formalized poem without rhyme, consisting of five lines.

First line

A single word name, usually a noun.

Second line

Two words- adjectives or participles that characterize or describe the topic set in the first line.

Third line

Fourth line

A phrase or sentence (ideal if it consists of of four words), which expresses the personal opinion of the author of the syncwine about the subject of the poem. It is possible to use sayings, proverbs, quotes, fixed expressions.

Fifth line

A word that sums up or expands the content of the topic. Usually it is a noun with the help of which the author reflects his own associations and feelings. But it is possible to use words of other parts of speech: pronouns, adverbs or interjections.

Exercises in composing syncwines are liked by both teachers and students. Here are 27 examples. Their authors are teachers, directors and head teachers of schools, heads of professional educational organizations who took part in the All-Russian practical seminar last November "Educational technologies recommended for the implementation of the Federal State Educational Standard".

The transition to an information society is accompanied by global changes in all spheres of human life. To a large extent, these changes concern the education system, the main task of which is the transition to training based on a competence-based, activity-based approach. Currently, we need a graduate who is able to independently make decisions in non-standard situations, think creatively.

To be successful in teaching students, the teacher must constantly improve himself and improve his lesson. Modern pedagogical approaches, teaching methods of students allow to increase cognitive interest in the studied subject, to improve the quality of knowledge.

The choice and further use of any teaching technique should be based on the principles of humanization, differentiation and individualization, democratization. It is necessary to adhere to the tendency of transition from information forms to active forms and methods of teaching, which involve elements of problematicity, scientific research, and the use of reserves for students' independent work. One of these techniques that I use in the classroom is the technique of writing didactic syncwine.

Didactic syncwine developed in the practice of the American school. The text of this genre is based not on syllabic dependence, but on the content and syntactic function of each line. The ability to summarize information in a few words is an important skill. It requires thoughtful reflection based on a rich conceptual store. Sinkwine is interesting as one of the forms of creative reflection. Composing syncwines allows you to develop the ability to synthesize and analyze the information received.

Also, this technique helps me to solve many important tasks at once:

The material studied in the lesson takes on a certain emotional coloring,

The vocabulary of students is significantly activated,

The skill of using synonyms, antonyms,

Cognitive activity is activated and develops,

The ability to express their own attitude to something is improved.

The origin of syncwine and its features.

The word cinquain comes from the French "five". Loosely translated, this word means ("five inspirations" or "five successes")

Sinkwine is a non-rhymed five-line poetic form that arose in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century. The form of syncwine was developed by the American poet Adelaide Krepsi, who relied on Japanese miniatures - hokku.

Sinkwine is used for didactic purposes, as an effective method for the development of figurative speech, which allows you to quickly get a result, as a tool for synthesizing complex information, as a cut of the assessment of the conceptual and vocabulary baggage of students.

The peculiarities of syncwine are that it is a form of free creativity, syncwine is easy to build, and most importantly, it is useful for developing the ability to analyze.

Writing syncwine requires the compiler to realize all his personal abilities (intellectual, creative, imaginative). The procedure for compiling a syncwine allows you to harmoniously combine the elements of all three main educational systems: information, activity and person-oriented.

Rules for composing syncwine

  1. The first line is the theme of syncwine, it contains one word that denotes the object or thing that will be discussed (usually this word is a noun or pronoun).
  2. The second line consists of two words that describe the signs and properties of the object or object selected in the syncwine (as a rule, adjectives or participles are used).
  3. The third line is formed by three verbs or participles describing the characteristic actions of the object.
  4. The fourth line is a four-word phrase expressing the personal attitude of the author of the syncwine to the described object or object.
  5. The fifth line contains a resume word that characterizes the essence of the subject or object.

Syncwine scheme:

1 line - syncwine theme - noun

2 line - description of the features and properties of the object - two adjectives

Line 3 - characteristic actions of the object - three verbs

4 line - a phrase expressing the personal attitude of the author to the object

5 line - word = resume, characterizing the essence of the object - noun

The simplicity of building syncwine makes it one of the most effective methods for child development, which allows you to quickly get a result.

Algorithm for working on syncwine, syncwine options.

Acquaintance with syncwine is carried out according to the following procedure:

1. The rules of writing syncwine are explained.

2. Several syncwines are given as an example.

3. The theme of syncwine is set.

4. The time for this type of work is fixed.

5. Variants of syncwines are heard at the request of the students.

Writing syncwine is a form of free creativity that requires the author to be able to find the most essential elements in the information material, draw conclusions and formulate them briefly. This type of work takes a short time period, which allows you to interview each student and assess the correctness and level of assimilation of the studied material. Various variations for composing syncwine contribute to the versatile compilation of tasks.

In addition to compiling a new syncwine on your own, (Annex 1) the following options are possible:

Drawing up a short story on the finished syncwine (using words and phrases that are part of the syncwine);

Correction and improvement of the finished syncwine;

Analysis of incomplete syncwine to determine the missing part (for example, a syncwine is given without specifying a topic - without the first line, the student must determine it based on the existing ones).

to compose a syncwine, you need to meaningfully understand the content. In the course of writing the syncwine, leading questions can be asked, and the five-line can be composed both individually and in groups.

In addition to the "classic" version of writing syncwine, I use the following options:

a) compilation of a short story on the finished syncwine, analysis of incomplete syncwine. (Appendix 2) With this type of work, one can fully see not only the lexical volume of students' knowledge, but also the correction, development of speech and thinking abilities. There are many options for creating new texts. The proposed "tracing paper" in the form of lines of syncwine stimulates interest not only in the studied topic, but also in the discipline.

b) correction and improvement of the finished syncwine. (Appendix 3) According to the already proposed ready-made syncwine, work is carried out in such a direction as discussing inaccurate phrases and replacing them with others - so, in this case, you can choose a more correct phrase in the fourth line.

Conclusion.

The method of composing syncwine, seemingly simple at first glance, hides a powerful, versatile instrument for reflection. After all, evaluating information, expressing thoughts, feelings and ideas in a few words, in fact, is not so easy. But this work is both challenging and rewarding for both the teacher and the students.

This type of work involves the inclusion of all the students' thought processes - analytical, synthesizing and creative, because you need to prove your own point of view, as well as come up with your own original answer.

Thus, the procedure for compiling a syncwine, being an effective innovative method, allows you to harmoniously combine the elements of all three main educational systems: information, activity and personality-oriented.

Observing the students in the lesson, you are convinced that they are interested. Their attention is focused on completing a particular task. The results of such lessons are also encouraging. Each student receives positive marks in the lesson. And the students themselves evaluate their work and the work of the teacher in the lesson with the highest scores.

Unconventional teaching experience

Sinkwine- This is a methodological technique, which is the compilation of a poem consisting of 5 lines. Moreover, the writing of each of them is subject to certain principles and rules. Thus, there is a brief summary, summing up the studied educational material.

Sinkwine is one of the technologies of critical thinking that activates the mental activity of schoolchildren through reading and writing. Writing it is a free creativity that requires the student to find and highlight the most significant elements in the topic under study, analyze them, draw conclusions and formulate them briefly, based on the basic principles of writing a poem.

It is believed that syncwine arose based on the principles of creating oriental poetic forms. Initially, great importance was attached to the number of syllables in each line, the arrangement of stress. But in pedagogical practice, all this is not given much attention. The main emphasis is on the content and principles of construction of each of the lines.

Syncwine building rules

First line poems are his theme. It is represented by just one word and necessarily a noun.

Second line consists of two words, revealing the main topic, describing it. These must be adjectives. The use of participles is allowed.

In the third line, through the use of verbs or participles, describes the actions related to the word that is the topic syncwine... Their number is three.

Fourth line- this is no longer a set of words, but a whole phrase with the help of which the component expresses his attitude to the topic. In this case, it can be either a sentence composed by a student independently, or a catch phrase, proverb, proverb, quote, aphorism, necessarily in the context of the topic being disclosed.

Fifth line- just one word, which is a kind of summary, summary. Most often it is just a synonym for the topic of the poem.

When writing syncwine in didactic practice, slight deviations from the basic rules of its writing are allowed. So, for example, the number of words in one or several lines can be varied and the replacement of given parts of speech with others.

Topic chosen for compilation syncwine should be close and interesting to students. The best results can be achieved if there is room for emotionality and sensuality.

Children don't always get involved right away. Difficulties may be associated with the need to analyze, comprehend the topic, insufficient vocabulary, misunderstanding of certain terms, scarcity of vocabulary, fear of making a mistake. To help the children, it becomes necessary to ask leading questions, broaden their horizons, encourage any desire of students, and answer questions that arise.

The main task of the teacher applying the method syncwine in the lesson, it is necessary to think over a clear system of logically interrelated elements, the embodiment of which in images will allow students to comprehend and remember the material of the subject.

How to teach children to write syncwine

First of all, it is necessary to tell that syncwine- this is the desire to fit in a short form your knowledge, thoughts, feelings, emotions, associations, this is an opportunity to express your opinion regarding any issue, subject, event, phenomenon, which will be the main theme of the work.

Then you need to explain the basic rules for writing the five-verse, for clarity, give a few examples. And only after that, the teacher announces the topic, specifying the time allotted for this work.

After the completion of the creative process, children, if desired, read out their poems. If the work took place, for example, as homework, the teacher can read (or ask the author of the work to do this) the most interesting options.

As an example, you can try to compose one common syncwine, writing it down on the board. Work in pairs or groups is allowed. But individual work is considered the most effective, since it allows the teacher to understand the depth of understanding of the material by each of the students.

Areas of use

Sinkwine, as a teaching method, is universal. It can be applied to the themes of any subject in the school curriculum. It allows students to become interested, helps to better understand and comprehend the material being studied. It is quite simple to compose a five-verse, so it is permissible to use it when working with children of any age.

Sinkwine- this is a special poem, which is the result of analysis and synthesis of existing or just received data. It can be used at the stage of challenge, when children, even before getting acquainted with a new topic, compose a poem, based on the information that they know at the moment. This allows the teacher to understand what the guys already know on this issue and will give the opportunity to correct the information that needs to be conveyed to the children for the correct assimilation of the material.

At the stage of comprehension, writing syncwine allows the teacher to assess how students understand the topic under study, diversifies the educational process, makes it more interesting, because syncwineit is also a play activity. In this case, the methodology is a change in activity, contributing to some emotional unloading of schoolchildren.

You can use it at the stage of reflection. Thought, translated into an image, allows the teacher to assess the level of understanding of the studied material by the students. Sinkwine belong to a fast, but very powerful tool of reflection.

Drafting syncwine- This is a creative activity and is often used in the study of humanitarian subjects.

Options for working with syncwine

In addition to the traditional compilation of syncwine, other types of work with five-verses in the lesson are possible.

Compose a story based on a ready-made poem. It is advisable, when compiling it, to use the words and phrases used in the given syncwine.

Edit ready syncwine, in order to improve it.

To add syncwine... To do this, you need to analyze the given poem, identify the missing part and fill it in. For example, you might suggest a poem that doesn't include a topic. Using words that characterize and reveal it, students should understand what is at stake.

Advantages of the method

When drawing up syncwine on lessons:

Interest in the material being studied increases;

Figurative thinking develops;

The creative abilities of students are developed;

Communication skills and the ability to express their thoughts succinctly and concisely are improved;

Thinking and imagination develops;

The ability to analyze is developed;

The time allotted for memorizing information is reduced;

The vocabulary is expanding.

Drafting syncwine the lesson takes relatively little time, but at the same time it is an effective way of developing figurative speech, which contributes to the rapid obtaining of the result.

In the course of working on this method, students are able not only to deepen their knowledge on any topic, but also to improve their skills to work independently with additional sources of information, to plan their educational activities.
