There are several stages in drawing using this technique.

Stage 1. First, the autumn leaves of trees or shrubs are collected with the children for an autumn walk. Leaves of different shapes and sizes are selected.

Stage 2. Then they come up with a plot from the collected elements - leaves. What can be depicted with collected leaves, using them as mosaics to create a pattern or plot? What do they look like? What will need to be finished to bring the picture to life?

Lay out on paper "sketch" from leaves - a future plot. You can draw something with a simple pencil. Think immediately about what background you need to match the plot and contrast with the color of the autumn leaves.

In our case, it will be a white-stemmed beauty-birch.

We draw a trunk, branches, outline how the leaves will be located on them. Since we are drawing an autumn tree, some leaves can be depicted in the fall, others already lying on the ground.

Stage 3. We start to create on the background - create a drawing in technique "Leaf prints on paper" ... First, we make the background - draw it with a wide flute brush. It can be the sky, the ground under a tree, a distant forest, etc.

Stage 4. When the background is dry, make prints of leaves on it according to our sketch.

For this:

Step 1. Paint a leaf of a tree from the back (the side where the veins are clearly visible) the desired color of thick gouache.

The paint should be thick.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: Do not put too much water on the brush, so we remind the child of the rule: after moistening the brush in a jar of water, you need to remove excess water by applying the brush to the edge of the jar several times. Extra drops of water drain from it. And only after that, thick gouache paint can be drawn onto a damp brush.

Step 2. Lay the prepared sheet with paint down on the background. This must be done very carefully and carefully. Put a paper napkin on top and press it down with your palm.

Step 3. Carefully remove the sheet and napkin from the background. The image is ready. Then we repeat everything with the following leaves.

Step 4. We draw clearly the trunk and branches of the birch, complement the resulting image with details.

Our picture is ready. And in our autumn forest the first painted tree appeared!
